Nexus 7-A Proud Member Of The Nexus Tradition

Nexus 7-The Same With A Bigger Punch....

There is no need for us to tell you that last year's Nexus 7 was a ginormous hit. Selling at no less than 20 piece per minute at the time of its launch. The collaboration between Google And Asus had clearly proved that this one was a pair meant to be.
So no one was surprised when leaks of a new Nexus 7 with Asus branding covered the Internet. So here is our review on the new Google Nexus 7.

Display:

Probably the biggest and the best upgrade from last years Nexus 7 is that, this years Nexus has a 7 inch 1920x1080 scree resolution (yes it is HD
) with a pixel density of 323 ppi. That is by far the best screen by far on any tablet, easily surpassing the
iPad 3 and its elder brother the Nexus 10.
The screen like all other new phones and tablets is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass, making it that more durable.

Internal Specs:

The Nexus 7 is one of the newest devices to be launched with Qualcomm's brand new Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset which features a Quad-Core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon Krait processor which pulverizes benchmarks and just about any other app that you throw at it.
The RAM is amounts to around 2 GB which is pretty good considering that last years model only carried a 1 GB RAM onboard.
The GPU is surprisingly an Adreno 320 we were befuddled to see this and then after spending some time with te tab we were like Nah this thing doesn't need an Adreno 330 GPU.

Camera:

First of all we would like to say that this is a camera on a tablet so you can never expect much from it. And it is that way it is a crappy 5 MP camera that provides dull, muted and washed out pictures. But it was a nice gesture from Asus's part to include a camera at least.
It does also feature a front facing secondary camera with a 1.2 MP sensor to capture all those selfies and for Video Conferencing.

Memory:

Continuing the trend started by most of the high end smartphone's and tablets the Nexus 7 also doesn't feature  expandable storage but it is available in 2 variants based on size that is a 16 and 32 GB and it also features a Non-cellular and a Cellular 4G LTE models.

Operating System:

This device is a  Nexus. At the end of the day every Nexus device will always be updated to the latest and greatest Android OS from Google for a very long time. So it is no surprise that even the Nexus 7 features Android 4.3 right out of the box.
The new OS feature a couple of new features such as support for more Bluetooth device's, Google Play Games etc.
You can check out the video on the side by MKBHD for more information on the new features of Android 4.3.

Colors, Battery And Price:

As of now the Nexus 7 is available only in black. The back of the device has this kind of matte smooth finish which makes it so much better to hold and grip.
The battery on board the device is a Li-ion 3950 mAh battery which again surprising beacause the last years model had a slightly larger battery, however this model is a very great "Battery Sipper" (quoting MKBHD).
Pricing starts at about $229 for the unlocked Wi-Fi only 16 GB model all the way upto to a $320 32 GB unlocked 4G LTE cellular model.

Conclusion:

Like every year Google has stunned every single geek and commoners alike with the launch of their new Nexus 7 as expected. And Google has priced this device very competitively starting of at just $229.
So we think that the Play Store will be stocks out very soon.

So that's our review on the Asus Google Nexus 7.

iPhone 5s-Revolutionizing Apple Or Old Is Gold ?

iPhone 5s-Plain Old Plain Old ?

Ok, lets admit guys that these two months have been nirvana for geeks like us. The Nexus 7, Note 3, iPhone 5s, and today we woke up to the brand new launch of the iPad Mini with Retina Display and the iPad Air (are we smelling a possible Nexus 5 release...?)
iPhone"s never needed an introduction after the release of the very first iPhone. But this year's iPhone has a new story itself with even more features piled upon it.

Display:

The sad thing about fact about the iPhone is that it still doesn't have an HD display. Well that's disappointing.
But Apple has clearly proved through the iPhone that you most definitely DO NOT need an HD display to make things look genuinely mind-blowing on screen. That is the reason why the iPhone's 4.0 inch screen looks gorgeous with the right amount of saturation, coloration and contrast. It has a decent pixel density of 326 ppi. A new addition to the screen this year is the presence of the Corning Gorilla Glass with oleophobic coating which was much needed in the previous models.

The Outer Casing And Body:

The structure of the new iPhone is so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful that we have decided to form a new heading just to talk about it.
It is encased in a beautifully aluminum body with laser cut glass. It looks absolutely beautiful. The colors also in which the phone is available beautifully compliments the build of this phone.
The Main attraction that one can definitely never miss on this iPhone is the new Finger-Print recognizing home button. This is the one of the few places where the 5s' tagline "Forward Thinking" really comes into play because this is the first time any major smartphone company has attempted this.

Internals And Memory:

This is an Apple product running iOS 7 (more on that later), so that means that this phone doesn't need any killer specs or 12 core/8 core craziness inside it to make its experience as fluid as possible.
That's why the iPhone features Apple's A7 chipset having Dual-Core, 1.3 GHz Cyclone processor which handles just about anything that you through at it with a breeze.
The RAM onboard the 5s maxes out at about 1 GB.
On the basis of memory it is available in 3 variants of 16, 32 and 64 GB prized proportionally too we might add.

Camera:

The camera is set to stun everyone with its excellent picture taking capabilities. The sensor on the back of the phone is an 8 MP one with a surprising dual-LED flash. One LED has a whitish shade while the other has a more amber shade. The phone judges the environmental lighting and accordingly decides how much of each to use. The camera software is also very simple to use and has HDR on by default.

Operating System:

How can I not talk about iOS 7 while doing a review on the iPhone.
iOS 7 can be briefly described in 3 simple words- Simple, Intuitive, Traditional.
Of course every one knows that iOS by default is very clean and simple among all the other OS's.
But even though Apple claims that it reinvents iOS each other it still retains its main inherent characters cause at the end of the day it is still a grid filled with a couple of icons, even though there is an extra layer of gloss.

Colors And Price:

The iPhone is available in Space gray, White, and a Champagne kind of Gold Color.
It is retailing from about $649 off-contract.

Conclusion:

Apple isn't into marketing internals as we clearly observe from not only the iPhone but also from the iPad.
It is also among the most expensive newly launched phones.
So at the end Apple intends to make a bang among people with deep pockets and also among the people who are on contract, with a bang.

So that's our review on the New Apple iPhone 5s.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3-Bigger Is Better

Introducing The Big Kid On The Block....

So these two months ought to be written down in the books of tech. The Nexus 7 2013 version, HTC One Max (Review Coming Soon), iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina Display, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and now the Samsung Galaxy Gear and now the Galaxy Note 3.

The Note line doesn't need any introduction. What started off with the Note 1 (which was an experiment by Samsung for those of you who did not know) turned into a revolution that started the
entire "phablet" industry hence. With the its highly accomplished Note 1 and Note 2 Samsung gave us along with the Samsung Gear the Note 3.

Display:

If you thought that last years note was the biggest it could get, think again. Samsung has stretched the bounds of screen expansion with a humongous 5.7 inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen.
The pixel density is pretty darn good at nearly 386 ppi. "That's A Lot Of Pixels"-Marques K Brownlee.

Internal Specs:

The chipset has two variants depending on where you live. The two chipsets featuring are Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 or Samsung's very own Exynos Octa 5 5420.
This also happens to be the very first phone on the market with 3 GB onboard RAM.
If you couple these two you will basically get a pair that smash, destroy, and crumble benchmarks.
The graphics unit on the Note 3 is an Adreno 330 or a Mali T628 MP6, again depending on where you live.
It has the regular sensors onboard along with an additional barometer and a thermometer.

Memory:

It is available in three variants based on siz
e that is 16, 32 or 64 Gb which can further be expanded to 64 GB via microSD card.

Connectivity:

Continuing the trend of the latest Galaxy Line-Up the Note 3 also features an InfraRed port which helps you to control your television via your phone/phablet (depending on how big your hands are).
It features Bluetooth 4.0 and exclusively supports the New Samsung Galaxy Gear.

Camera:

The camera on this thing is Mind Blowing!
What Samsung has done is it has taken amazing sensors, great appeture's tec and coupled it with an easy to use, intuitive, amazingly freshening camera software/interface.
It features a 13 MP camera which takes amazing pictures both in broad daylight and at night, which makes it an one of the best (or even the best) smartphone camera around easily smashing the S4, the iPhone 5s (review coming soon), HTC One right out of the ballpark.

Colors And Price:

It is available in the regular Black & White but along with an interesting addition this year that is pink (I kid you not, it is pink).

You can buy the Note 3 from Amazon at $700, off contract for the 32 GB White here.

S-Pen:

We know that no Note series phone can come to end with speaking about its characteristic feature that is of course the S-Pen.
This years Note come with its own bundle of goodies pertaining to the S-Pen.
Including a fancy menu that pops up when you knida hover the S-Pen above the Note's screen
A lot of functionality has been added to the calender and the email apps where you can hover over individual sections to give information about that particular mail or date.

Conclusion:

We think that The Note 3 is already a Runaway Success. There is one or another thing that will definitely stun or "wow" every person.
It can be the 8 core processor "wowing" the geeks, or the amazing camera that will awe the shutterbugs or even the S-Pen which will of great use for people on the go.

So that's my review on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy Gear-A Step Into The Future

Introducing The Step Into The Future...

So Samsung has gone into a full swing by releasing a ton of new products the Note III (Exclusive Review Coming Up Right After This) and The Gear being the main highlights.

This device was leaked well before it was released on several websites, that when it did finally released people were not that awed when they saw it, but lets review it anyway.
The Gear was released at IFA this year in Berlin in Samsung's aptly named "Unpacked" event.

Internal Specs:

The watch comes packed with Samsung's traditional Exynos 800 MHz Single Chip cause come on, at the end how much computing are we going to do on this after all. And the RAM on board this watch amounts upto 512 MB

Display:

The screen is a 1.62 inch 320x320 Super AMOLED screen. The fact That it has an AMOLED display is a critical point that has to be taken into consideration because this is a watch at the end of the day and AMOLED displays are the best at conserving battery especially due o the fact that they never lit up pixels if the color black is being displayed. This is a crucial thing done right by Samsung.
The pixel density is not all that bad at 277 ppi.

Camera And Connectivity:

It also features a camera on its strap away from the body which sports a 1.9 mega-pixel sensor which surprisingly has really good auto-focus and also has 720p video shooting capability.
On the connectivity end it has Bluetooth 4.0 to connect with many of Samsung's phones especially the S4 Note 3 and also among the tablets it works really well with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (Review is coming up soon).

Battery:

The battery is a standard Li-ion battery with a capacity of 315 mAh. Like I said earlier it doesn't need a really high capacity battery because it is ultimately needs to power-up a Super AMOLED screen after all.

Durability And Weight:

The Gear weighs in at just about 73.8g which is okay for a decent sized watch.
An interesting point to be noted is the fact that it is IP-55 certified which tells us that they have paid a good deal of attention to the durability side of the watch.
It can also partly "survive" underwater submerging but only up to 1 atm pressure which means tha it can tolerate sprinkling of water on it, splashes, sweat, rainwater etc. However it cannot be worn during swimming or other such aquatic activities.

Colors And Price:

It is available in several interesting colors such as Jet Black, Oatmeal Beige, Lime Green, Mocha gray, Wild Orange and Rose Gold.

It is retailing for about $299 in Amazon and you can even buy it from here.

Conclusion:

We think that the Samsung Galaxy is a great add on to your smartphone and also a great gadget by itself.
Samsung has taken a huge leap of faith on this one and this gadget can bring immense success if it is marketed at the right price to the right customers.

So that's our review on the Samsung Galaxy Gear.
