Quora, The Online Camfire

Welcome To The Campfire

There has been a recent increase in the number of online knowledge sharing website, and the one to watch for is Quora, a site that I use personally.

It was co-founded by Mike Cheever and Adam D'Angelo who is ex CTO of Facebook.
The site basically provides you the "best answer for any question" as it claims.

(From left to right Charlie Cheever and Adam D'Angelo, the co-founders)

Its has an amazing conglomeration of CEOs professors, subject experts, college students, inventors and just nerds (there I said it).
The site is valued at $800 million, and its forecasted to increase exponentially.
(Quora's Office, looks pretty serious in there)

If you do decide to join it you are required to pick out the topics that interests, once you're done with it you find that your stream is constantly flooded with really amazing mind bending questions, situations that you never really bothered to look at differently.

So you can check out the site here.

Digital Genius, Another AI On The Rise

Artificial Intelligence On The Rise:

Digital Genius is an Artificial Genius startup based out of Silicon Valley, California. Digital Genius is perhaps the best conversational AI that I have seen to date since Siri and perhaps its even better than Siri.

The main realm where it beats Siri is the fact that it can recognize catch phrases. Other than that it uses online retail experiences, in order to develop the AI's knowledge base of phrases that are oftenly used.
(To your right is the founder of Digital Genius, Dimitri Aksenov)

The Digital Genius team is also developing new ways through which it brings to you highly personalized ads, by combing through your searches, your orders on online websites etc.

The clientele list is pretty amazing as they already have major players like BMW onboard; In fact BMW used their software during the launch of their electric vehicles.

Startups: Ather Energy

Electric Vehicles, Redefined, For The Second Time.

This is a new section of the blog where we talk of the most promising startups around the world, what better way to start off by than by talking about Ather Energy.

Ather Energy is a startup based out of Bangalore, India. It was co-founded by two IIT Madras graduates, Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain.
(Co-founders of Ather Energy From Left To Right Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain)

The startup is developing electric scooters for the future.
Just one look at the website, shows just how passionate and ambitious they are. They have been in the news several times after receiving several rounds of financing.

The co-founders of Flipkart.com, Sachin and Binny Bansal, had invested $1 million in the startup and most recently Tiger Global invested $12 million just a few days back.

The scooters really do look from the future. As you scroll through the webpage you get hints of the fact that these guys are really out there to revolutionize not only the the way people look at electric vehicles but also the importance of design when it comes to vehicles.
They are incorporating a lot of revolutionary features into their scooters, such as greater mileage, incorporating lightweight materials, new Android UI on the dash etc.

You can check out more about them, at their website here.
